Sanket won the Deans List Award at the 2018 FIRST Detroit World Championship. He was the 2017-18 Programming Lead and is currently the team President.

Sanket was born in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Mountain View, California when he was 2 months old. He lived there for the majority of his life.

In his earlier years, his three main interests were science, math, and soccer. He first got involved in soccer at the age of 3 when his dad would take him to the park every Saturday.

In the first couple years of his life, his family was under a good deal of financial duress. Coming from India as immigrants made getting a job difficult, and his parents struggled to adapt to the culture. His dad had a small security job and his mom worked wherever she could. His parents were educated, but sometimes the degree isn't accepted in America. Eventually, his parents were able to get jobs at Stanford University as a professor and a lab assistant. "My parents made huge sacrifices to make sure that I could receive the best education available to them," says Sanket.

In elementary school, Sanket won many regional soccer awards. He won the Gatorade Player at NORCAL 2 years in a row. He couldn't play for club teams like he dreamed of because it costed too much, so he stuck to competitive leagues.

Beyond soccer, he began to develop aspirations to pursue chess, dancing, and singing. As an 11-year-old, he secured a chess rating of 1614 (which is Class B, exceptional for an 11-year-old). He also on a dance team for 4 years and developed an aptitude for piano, violin, guitar, and cello.

When he was 12-years-old, he received scholarships to be able to play for 2 club soccer teams like he always wanted. During middle school, he participated in FLL and got to pursue his interest in programming.

At age 14, he moved to Troy, Michigan and attended Boulan Park Middle School for a year. He maintained a 4.0 GPA and was the Valedictorian of his class. He finished High School AB Calculus as an 8th grader.

He chose to attend International Academy East and has maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA while taking 7 IB classes per year. He has been playing for soccer for 4 years and Track and Field for 2 years, both a Troy High School. He will be one of two students to ever graduate while taking 3 IB science courses at once.

He joined Benzene Bots Freshman year. His aptitude for programming and thinking outside of the box has amazed us all. From teaching a programming class at our Future Leaders STEM Camp to thinking of the idea for EKGAR, Sanket has gone above and beyond to spread STEM in our community.
